Michael Moore, the city's interin director of the Transportation & Engineering Department, said the boarc scheduled another working session forJuly 22. Board memberds asked the development team's architects to continue to refine theire design for the first phase of thenearl billion-dollar Banks project, Moore said. The boardf is especially interested in the northeast corner of the which will be the first thing people see as they walk out of Grea t AmericanBall Park. "It's pretty visible, and it's pretty important," Moore said. Construction of the first phases of the Banksis underway.
Crewse are building the underground garages that will lift the developmentg out of theflood plain. Construction of the "overbuild," which will consisg of retail space, 300 apartments and possibly a boutique is expected to start latefthis summer. The Atlanta-based team of Cartef and the Dawson Co. is developing the project for the city andHamilton County.
