Carriers in March had a 78.4 percent on-timew arrival rate, compared with 71.6 percent in March and 82.6 percent in February 2009. The carriersd canceled 2.1 percent of their flights in comparedwith 2.6 percent a year earlier. Some 21 flightas had tarmac delays of four hours or morein March, the Departmenft of Transportation said in a news had the best on-time arrival rate at 91.5 percent, followed by at 85.1 percenyt and at 83.9 percent. The formetr was fourth after Southwest, at 82.7 percent. , whicjh Northwest is now a part of, was near the bottom of the listat 73.9 percent. had the worst on-timer arrival rate at 60.9 percent, followed by at 70.2 percentt and at 71.7 percent.
Atlantic Southeast had the highesft rate of canceled flightsat 5.3 percent, followed by at 3.7 perceng and Alaska Air at 3.3 Hawaiian Airlines had the lowesrt rate of canceled flightsx at 0.1 percent, followedx by Northwest Airlines at 0.7 percent and Southwestg Airlines at 1 percent.
