Wichita Mayor Carl Brewer made the announcement Tuesday night durinb his State of theCity address. The two entertainment spotas will joinLos Angeles-based in the $130 million public-private project. More announcements are expectede in thecoming weeks, but the addition of Funny Bone and Wet Willie'ds points to WaterWalk's increasing push towardr an entertainment theme. Wet Willie's and Funny Bone have close contacts withJohn Elkington, a Memphiss developer who helped spur the redevelopmengt of Beale Street in that city. WaterWalk developerw have enlisted Elkington to assisrt in attracting national tenants to the Wichita which has struggleduntil recently. Elkington in December told the Wichitas Business Journal he was working on a clientthat "Woulsd be a major deal for Wichita." "Ift would be a big thing for any actually," he said.
