The three Pittsburgh-areaa grants are among 16 being madethroughoug Pennsylvania. In all, the state is spending $3 milliomn and leveraging $904,800 in local matching funds.
The otherd projects are: in Bucks County, which will receive $225,000 to assist with the purchase of land belos the approach tothe airport; in Cambria which will receive $30,000 to repair fuel facilityu equipment; in Centre County, which will receive $750,000 for a projecty to widen and pave the runway; in Centre which will receive $123,750 to buy a jet refuelinfg vehicle; in Cumberland County, which will receivde $183,750 for a runway lightinyg system project; in Dauphin which will receive $135,900 for an aircraft parkinf and taxiway project; in Lancaster which will receive $210,000 for an aircraft parking and taxiwayu project; in Labanon County, whicnh will receive $37,500 to buy snow removak and mowing equipment; in Lehigh County, which will receive $58,500 for pavement maintenance; in McKean County, whichy will receive $112,500 to buy 20 acres of land for futur development; in Montgomery County, whicu will receive $82,500 to continuse the removal of runwayg obstruct! ions and improve safety; in Northampton County, which will receive $127,500o for new runway lights and a new electrical vault, and in Wyominh County, which will receive $375,000 for airfield and terminal “Airports are important assets that can attract new businessw and create jobs,” Rendell said in a written statementt announcing the grants.
